What Ofsted said
From the inspection on 27 January 2026
Pupils thrive at this caring school. They greet each other with a smile and welcome visitors to their school with warmth and enthusiasm. Pupils feel safe and secure. Positive relationships are at the heart of the school’s work. Pupils understand the school’s ‘LEO Explorer characteristics’ of empathy, curiosity and resilience. Most pupils enjoy their learning. They achieve well by the end of key stage 2. There are, however, some inconsistencies in how well the curriculum is delivered across classes. Staff modelling, questioning and interactions do not always build on pupils’ knowledge effectively. Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) access the curriculum successfully. Staff adapt learning well to meet their needs. The school works effectively with the academy trust and external specialists to reduce pupils’ barriers to learning. Most disadvantaged pupils and pupils with SEND make positive progress from their starting points. Pupils feel a strong sense of belonging. They are included in all aspects of school life. They enjoy taking part in a range of wider experiences that extend their learning beyond the classroom. Pupils play respectfully, form positive friendships and engage warmly with staff. Most pupils attend regularly and punctually. Pupils behave well. Classrooms are calm and purposeful. Expectations are clear and applied consistently. Pupils know that bullying is not tolerated. If any concerns arise, staff act swiftly and appropriately. Pupils are increasingly well prepared for life in modern Britain and for contributing positively to their school and wider community.
What the school should improve
- Leaders should build on their work to support pupils at risk of lower attendance so that all groups of pupils attend regularly. • Leaders should ensure that the curriculum is taught consistently well across all subjects so that pupils’ knowledge builds effectively over time.
