From the inspection on 13 January 2026
From the early years, pupils achieve well. By the time pupils leave at the end of Year 6, they are well prepared for their secondary education. At the end of key stage 2, pupils achieve highly, including disadvantaged pupils. Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities progress well from their starting points. Pupils develop the knowledge and skills that they need for future success. They enjoy learning and benefit from high-quality teaching that meets their individual needs. Pupils read texts they can relate to. These widen their horizons and inspire them. Pupils develop a real commitment to their learning. Pupils participate fully in school life. They enjoy visits to museums and places of worship, African drumming and residential trips to London and abroad. Such a diverse range of activities and experiences enriches pupils' education. Pupils help to shape the school’s development. They elect a school council that works in collaboration with school leaders to develop the quality of provision. Recently, the school council has been central to a review of school lunches and the purchase of outdoor equipment. Moreover, pupils form trusting relationships with staff, who know and value them as individuals. Pupils belong to a school with a deep and genuine community spirit. Pupils flourish as they attend regularly and behave in an exemplary manner. Bullying is rare. When it does happen, leaders deal with it effectively. Pupils feel safe. They show kindness and respect to each other. They meet in mixed-age groups to discuss their hopes and concerns and reflect on their experiences. This makes a significant contribution to a culture in which pupils support each other’s wellbeing. Pupils develop confidence and resilience. Indeed, the school prepares pupils well to become active and respectful citizens.
What the school should improve
- Leaders should ensure that they continue to have a central focus on reducing levels of persistent absence, particularly for disadvantaged pupils.
