Pupils have positive, happy relationships with staff. These relationships support pupils' confidence and wellbeing. They also encourage pupils to attend regularly. Many pupils attend every day. This means they learn the knowledge they need. Additionally, they keep in close contact with their friends. Most pupils behave well. They show positive attitudes to learning. For example, they listen attentively to staff and each other. Pupils are friendly and welcoming to visitors. New pupils receive effective support and quickly feel part of the school community. There are few incidents of bullying. Pupils know who to talk to if they have any worries. Staff help them to resolve any concerns quickly and effectively. At breaktimes, many pupils take part in fun activities. Others enjoy talking to their friends. As a result, typically, pupils feel safe. Pupils enjoy their lessons. Staff make learning interesting. Pupils work hard and try their best. However, teaching sometimes does not meet pupils' needs well. Pupils sometimes repeat mistakes because their misconceptions are not addressed. Over time, pupils build secure knowledge in mathematics, reading and writing. Typically, they achieve well. Pupils also learn about broader ideas, such as different beliefs and how to show compassion to others. Additionally, they understand how to stay safe online and in the community. This prepares them well for the next stage of education and life outside of school. Some pupils have social, emotional or mental health needs. Staff usually provide appropriate guidance to support these pupils. This helps them feel ready and able to learn. Pupils really enjoy the trips they take part in. These include visits to various museums and places of interest. Pupils also attend a range of clubs. These help them develop new interests and skills. Many pupils have additional responsibilities, such as school ambassadors or eco warriors. They carry out their responsibilities with pride.
What the school should improve
- Leaders should ensure that adaptations and strategies used to overcome barriers to pupils' learning are effective and precisely match identified needs.
- Leaders should ensure that staff teach the curriculum consistently well across all subjects and year groups.
- Leaders should continue to work with parents and carers and further improve communication to ensure parents understand changes implemented by the school.
