What Ofsted said
From the inspection on 6 January 2026
Pupils are happy here. They are kept safe and appreciate that staff are always there to help them when they need it. The school's vision and values centre around the 'Saint Lawrence way' and being kind: this being knowledge and understanding of the world, inquisitive and imaginative minds, nurturing and compassionate hearts and devotion to living as God's children. This approach is clear in teaching and learning and realised in the behaviours and actions of leaders, staff and pupils. Consequently, pupils' behaviour in the school is exemplary. Pupils are clear, that on the rare occasions there are unkind behaviours, adults ensure these isolated issues are addressed and resolved quickly. Pupils enjoy their learning and are eager to join in. There are clear routines and expectations in place that ensure that the school is a calm, purposeful place, where learning is at the heart. Pupils typically achieve well across the curriculum, including disadvantaged pupils, and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Where children start in the early years with gaps in their learning and/or development, leaders and staff effectively reduce these. Any barriers to children's learning are reduced over time. As pupils progress through the school, they learn and remember more of the curriculum. Typically, pupils are ready for the next stages of their learning. This is reflected in national outcomes at the end of Year 6. At the school, pupils deepen their sense of belonging. Parents and carers are highly positive about the school's work, as well as highlighting the caring and committed staff. Parents say that the school sits at the heart of the local community.
What the school should improve
