What Ofsted said
From the inspection on 24 March 2026
Pupils enjoy learning in the school's positive atmosphere. They are inquisitive and have fun learning about the world around them. Children in the early years demonstrate impressive learning habits when exploring during excellently planned activities in Reception. Because pupils enjoy school, they attend regularly. Pupils show determination when facing tricky aspects of learning. Pupils show resilience knowing that they can learn from their mistakes. Because staff provide effective support, pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those experiencing disadvantage do well in school. The school's nurturing environment supports pupils to build positive relationships with each other and staff. Pupils feel safe at school. They know that adults care for them well and are willing and able to help pupils if they feel worried. Pupils go out of the way to care for others. They share warm greetings on their arrival in the morning and look out for each other throughout the school day. When working in groups, pupils encourage and support each other to succeed. They celebrate others' successes with enthusiasm. In the playground, pupils play well together. Older pupils model the school's values. They show younger pupils and children in the early years how to interact with kindness. Bullying is very rare. When it does happen, pupils are confident that staff deal with it swiftly and effectively so that it stops and does not happen again. Pupils explain their opinions on a range of different topics articulately. For example, they discuss maturely the issues young people face in modern society. They listen to others' views and offer their own perspectives sensitively. Because pupils are well taught and work hard, they learn the curriculum and achieve well. Pupils leave for secondary school well prepared for further studies. Children in the early years become powerful learners. They make an excellent start to their education.
What the school should improve
- Leaders should ensure that teaching enables pupils to remember and understanding key knowledge, across all areas of the curriculum, in the long term.
- Leaders should continue their work to improve the accuracy of pupils' writing, including spelling.
