This is a very small school that sits at the heart of the local community. It is welcoming and friendly to all. Pupils understand and enact the school's values of being bold, resilient, aspirational, versatile and enlightened. Most pupils achieve well across the curriculum and are ready for the next stage in their education. Most pupils progress well through the curriculum. However, sometimes, staff do not address gaps in pupils' learning as quickly and comprehensively as they could. In the early years, children achieve well; however, high-quality discussions are not always utilised in the best way to develop children's knowledge. Pupils enjoy coming to school and feel safe here. They know that they can talk to staff about any worries they have and that staff will help to keep them safe. Pupils attend school regularly. Typically, pupils behave well. They know the school’s rules and routines and follow these. Staff provide helpful reminders about behaviour expectations so that pupils can listen and learn successfully. Playtimes are a positive time of the school day. Pupils engage in purposeful learning and get along well with their friends. Pupils can take part in a range of inclusive extra-curricular activities to develop their talents and interests, such as multi-sports, choir and football club. There are opportunities to take part in performances and large-scale concerts. The curriculum is enriched through trips and visits, for example to the Black Country Living Museum, to support learning in history lessons. They can also take part in sports competitions. Pupils have the opportunity to participate in an overnight camping experience to build resilience and independence. Pupils also learn about potential careers through visits to a local agriculture college and by engaging in careers projects.
