From the inspection on 24 April 2024

Pupils are exceptionally well cared for at this well-led, friendly and hopeful school. They get a superb education, learn much and grow in many different ways. Whatever their backgrounds, starting points or needs, all are supported to do their best and succeed. Achievement is strong and opportunities beyond the classroom are extensive. There is always a lot happening at Hargate Primary. Many pupils speak different languages and some arrive at different times during the year. Staff help them to settle in quickly and to learn English. Deaf pupils and those with social, emotional or other special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) receive expert support. They access the full curriculum and do very well. In many cases, the school succeeds with pupils who have struggled to cope elsewhere. The highly inclusive approach coupled with high expectations for behaviour and learning, make the school a calm and joyous place to learn. Pupils are happy here and make many friends. They feel safe, optimistic and valued. Bullying is not a problem. However, pupils know what to do should it happen. Staff take any problems seriously and listen to what pupils and parents have to say. Hargate Primary goes above and beyond to meet pupils' needs.
