What Ofsted said
From the inspection on 17 March 2026
Pupils enjoy being part of this bilingual school community. They speak positively about learning in 2 languages and say this helps them understand more about the world and their place within it. Relationships between pupils and adults are warm, and pupils feel well cared for. They trust that staff will help them if they have a worry, and they say bullying is rare and dealt with quickly when it occurs. Pupils feel safe in school. Pupils value the wide range of opportunities that enrich their school experience. They talk enthusiastically about activities, such as sports competitions and the school’s involvement in events, including a local dance performance. These experiences help pupils develop confidence, broaden their interests and feel part of the wider community. Pupils value the inclusive culture that encourages everyone to take part, regardless of their need or background. Pupils’ experiences in lessons are less consistent, however. While many are keen to learn, too many do not sustain positive attitudes in class. Low-level disruption, including talking over adults or off-task behaviour, interrupts learning too frequently. As a result, not all pupils benefit fully from the curriculum or achieve as well as they should. Pupils are proud to be part of the school and its community. They describe the school as friendly and welcoming. They enjoy spending time with their friends and speak warmly about the sense of belonging. Feeling they belong helps many pupils to attend school regularly. If a pupil and their family need support to attend more often, leaders typically step in early, work with parents and carers and involve external agencies, where needed, to help remove barriers and improve attendance.
What the school should improve
- Leaders should continue to embed the approach to handwriting so pupils acquire the foundational skills and knowledge they need.
- Leaders should continue their work to ensure that all groups of pupils attend school more regularly.
- Leaders should ensure that all staff have consistently high expectations of pupils' behaviour and attitudes to learning.
